You’re going at top speed. Your legs feel like they’re going to give way and you’re cursing that decision to not wear padded cycle shorts. Then you glance at your iPhone or Apple Watch, and Strava makes you smile.

You can check your pace, distance covered and more
It’s not just your personal best you’re looking to beat. Strava is a community app where you can see how others have fared on similar routes, and how your times and fitness levels compare.
The app is most popular with runners and cyclists, but it’s just as good for tracking loads of other sports, including walking, inline skating, rock climbing, open water swimming and wheelchair racing.
Get all the stats on your latest run or bike ride
There’s depth to your data in the app. As well as breaking down your run or cycle (or other activity) into digestible sections, you can see your distance covered, average pace, calories burned and elevation gain. There are detailed maps of your routes and your top speeds.
You’ll soon be checking the app for the latest times to beat, so you’ll have plenty of reason to get back out there and go even faster.
